Rough Waters

I assumed I’d have smooth sailin’

With Jesus at my side

Never thought I’d see rough waters

I got lost in my pride

Had a rush of diff’rent feelings

I’d lost that inner burn

It felt like I was flyin’ solo

Confused which way to turn

We will always see rough waters

In a world filled with sin

Through faith, He will ease our sorrow

I'll find my rest in Him

The battle’s not just around us

It’s also from within

My flesh can rear its ugly head

And lead me into sin

His strength is found in my weakness

And nothing of my own

Lord Jesus needs to be my focus

In Him and Him alone

When I sin, it brings conviction

The Holy Spirit speaks to me

He’s faithful to forgive my sin

When I am humbled on my knees

As the trials of life keep coming

And my faith is put to the test

I can put my trust in Jesus

It’s at His feet where I find rest

Yeah...my strength can't win the battles

I’m trusting only Him
