Opened Eyes

In the past I built my truth on the world’s changing winds

It blew in all directions, in deeply rooted sin

Everybody shouting “this is who I wanna be”

A ton of little kingdoms, all shoutin' "LOOK AT ME"

I was list’nin' with my deaf ears

And I was seein' with blind eyes

The world seemed so appealing

But it was Satan in disguise

God’s mercy found me broken

Drowning deeply in my pride

Jesus tore the veil wide open

Now I see with opened eyes

The thunder sings Your power, and oceans preach Your grace

And creation calls us all to seek Your Holy face

Lost in my own answers, I found comfort in my lies

Now I’m seeing all your wonder with my opened eyes

God’s mercy found me broken

Drowning deeply in my pride

Now I see with opened eyes

It ain’t your truth,

It ain’t my truth

God's truth will set you free

Not what you think

It's what God thinks

Not some weird morality

Now my life has got a meaning

And my world is filled with light

All my earthly circumstances

Bow before Your sovereign might

No more dreams of worldly pleasures

Yep, I’ve given up that fight

Now I’m resting in my Savior

'Cause I'm precious in His sight

I’m forever changed by Jesus

Done with all the foolish lies

His grace and mercy reigneth

He has opened up my eyes
