Armed For Battle

The belt of truth is buckled and secured around my waist

The breastplate of righteousness resting in its place

My feet have been fitted

with the Gospel of peace

I'm assured that the shield of faith will never ever cease

The helmet of salvation is secured atop my head

Sword not made of steel, fashioned by His word instead

Holding on ‘til the end

The war’s already won

I’m carried into battle by my Savior, God the Son

My spirit is so willing

But I often hesitate

But Jesus leads His army

In His hands I place my fate

‘Cause we’re not strugglin’ against the flesh and blood

The battle with these spirits began before the flood

Recruited to God’s army, our mission is clear

Armed with words of salvation, for ev'ry soul to hear

Standing firm on the solid rock, God’s got me standing tall

He's placed His message in my hands to share it with them all

Eternal life through Jesus

Will be our battle cry

‘Cause He’s the only rescue for the lost and the tired

My spirit is so willing

And my flesh is oh so weak

He gives us power to speak
