Casting Light
Lyrics by Tom BorgesonCopyright 2026There are roads that often leave you weary
There are nights that feel so awfully long
There are questions with no solid answers
When you’ve tried so hard at being strong
There’s a voice that breaks the deafening silence
Like the dawn across the morning sky
It’s an invitation from the Savior
His saving power comes from on high
When Jesus casts His light
Upon a darkened soul
His words will pierce a troubled heart
When we confess our sins
The Evil shadows flee
And He will change your life, not just in part
We build our lives on the empty promise
That the world was never meant to keep
And our lives are chasing empty answers
Planting dreams with roots that are too weak
But the words of Christ are sure and steady
We’ll have roots that run forever deep
When our hearts finally turn towards heaven
We find the rest that seemed so out of reach
When Jesus casts His light
Upon a darkened soul
His words will pierce a troubled heart
When we confess our sins
And Evil shadows flee
His grace will change your life, not just in part
He was there
When heartache overwhelmed us
He’ll be there
To take us through the storm
Through faith, His grace is freely
His mercies will be new each every morn
When Jesus casts His light
Upon a darkened soul
His words will pierce a troubled heart
When we confess our sins
And Evil shadows flee
His grace will change your life, not just in part
So, if darkness never seems to leave you
There’s a light that frees your troubled soul
He offers light and true salvation
He’ll change your life, not in part, but the whole
