Steppin' Out

Was lookin’ forward to the day

As I got up from bed

The fields are white for harvest

That verse was in my head

I see a diff’rent world than most

A sea of weary souls

And I’ll keep my eyes on Jesus

His story must be told

There’s a person in my path today

The Lord has them in mind

It’s a prearranged appointment

It’ll be a diff’rent kind

He has asked me to be faithful

Gotta message to be told

He said, truth can pierce a heart son

Go and share it and be bold

He gives me ev'ry thing I need

Just as I'm headed out

He strengthens me and puts away

Uncertainty and doubt

So I’m steppin out in faith today, like Peter and his boat

The devil’s sayin’ stay right there but he don’t get a vote

Wond’rin’ what might lie ahead, lookin’ forward to the day

Excited I might share the Word and show someone the Way

I’m blessed that someone shared with me

Was just a few years back

He stopped me at a street corner

And handed me a track

He said “Man, you gotta read this”

And set out on his way

My eyes were opened as I read

It changed my life that day

So I'm steppin' out in faith today, like Peter on that sea

With truth about His saving grace, the Truth that set me free
