Facing Giants

There’s a giant standin’ there and he’s callin’ out my name

Mockin’ ev’ry promise, stirin’ up my fear and shame

He says, “You ain’t got nothin’ and it’s best you turn away”

A higher voice is sayin’ “I’ll strengthen you this day”

And I may not have the armor that the giant thinks I need

But with the strength of Jesus, he’ll soon be on his knees

Yeah, the battle isn’t mine, it’s the Lord who lays the claim

I’m steppin’ out with boldness, and in my Savior’s name

‘Cause I remember David, just a shepherd all alone

The boy who God gave courage and a sling and a stone

The world throws fears straight at me, yessir morning, noon, and night

It whispers, Run away now, and you don’t want this fight

But I don’t see a giant, just an enemy to face

Into battle with the Lord and His amazing grace

I call upon my Savior who promised to be near

He reminds me who I am, a child of the God who lives

More than a conqueror with His strength to me He gives

I’ll no longer see the giants, just the challenges I face

I’ll put my trust in Jesus and carried by His grace
