Changed Forever

The sunrise seemed to take a little longer

The coffee brewed a little slower too

And there I was, just staring out the window

Just wondering if I would make it through

She broke my heart and pieced it back together

A second chance was always just her style

I knew I had to live a life that mattered

Or she’d be gone and not just for a while

I prayed that night to Jesus dear Lord help me

And let me see the man that I could be

The work before me seemed so overwhelming

He said, My grace is all that you will need

So, I prayed to Him, and He answered with a question

Can you trust me and call upon no others

And from my knees I pleaded please Lord take me

He would change me, and who I am, forever

Now Jesus shines His light to guide my footsteps

The Lighthouse, when my life hits troubled seas

Now the sun shines bright each day and ev’ry morning

The coffee tastes a whole lot better too

Me and my girl now live a life that matters
