Holding the Bible in my hands

God warned us all of sinking sands

His words of Truth are all but lost

Has easy faith replaced the Cross

Now with stage lights and music loud

Smiling faces and cheering crowds

Repeating words we think are praise

We've lost the Gospel in the haze

Have we traded Truth for mass appeal

Do we stand and clap instead of kneel

Bring back the truth, bring back the cross

Bring back the message to the lost

Bring back the blood that washed me clean

Not just the parts that don’t sound mean

Our songs have wandered from Your Word

Let’s bring back Truth that must be heard

The Gospel's not an easy road

Where we can keep the sins we hold

Jesus came to save and restore

And call us all to something more

Repentance softens hearts of stone

Can't reach the lost with joy alone

So let’s go back to what brings tears

And preach the Truth to unsaved ears
